A Huge Wave of Raspberry Pi Add-ons is Coming

Itead is planning to launch several Raspberry Pi shields soon including Screws Prototype Add-on, GSM Add-on, LCD1602 Add-on, GPS Add-on and lego Add-on, etc.

Now let's have a quick look at these boards.

Screws Prototype Add-on extends all pins of Raspberry Pi 2*13 pin connector out to 3.5mm pitch screw terminals. 
It also has a lot of utilities provided by Arduino Protoshield, including a large prototyping space of both connected and unconnected 0.1'' spaced through-holes.

LCD1602  Add-on is a LCD keypad add-on for Raspberry PI, which can be directly plugged onto the PI, no soldering or fly-wiring needed. It offers 6 keys as well as interfaces of 1602LCD module.

GPS Add-on is based on NEO-6M GPS module. The NEO-6 module series is a family of stand-alone GPS receivers featuring the high performance u-blox 6positioning engine, which brings the high performance of the u-blox 6 positioning engine to the miniature NEO form factor.

GSM Add-on is a breakout board and minimum system of SIM900 Quad-band GSM/GPRS module. It can communicate with Raspberry PI via AT commands (GSM 07.07, 07.05 and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands). This module supports software power on and reset.
