Arduino Based Time Attendance System

A time attendance system machine may be the first thing you meet when you go to your office and start your work. The most common type is using card. In this blog, we will use Arduino and several modules to create a simple time attendance system. 

Components we need

1.Connection

The connection between all modules to Iteaduino UNO is as the following table:

Then, plug the SD card into SD card module, and install the button cell to DS1307 module.

2. Demo Upload

Before uploading the demo, users should ensure that the following two libraries exist in they Arduino IDE libraries folder.

NFC.pde download

Before users upload the NFC.pde file to Iteaduino UNO, they need to revise the current time of DS1307. Note that the time can be modified once only in order to avoid time change when UNO repower next time. If they want to modify to a new time, they need to modify eeprom_address or eeprom_value in NFC.pde file. For example, eeprom_address is modified to 0x01 or eprom_address to 0x02.

After uploading the demo to UNO, users can place RFID card in the induction zone of NFC module. When users hear a beep from buzzer module, the time and the card ID is written into SD card. Then, users can use a card reader to read the SD card. Users can find “TIMECARD.TXT”file in SD card, open to see each card's information and the time users punch the card to NFC module.
