How to Plug LED Matrix into Colorduino / Colors Shield

To plug LED matrix correctly into Colorduino or Colors Shield, the most important point is to find the pin N.O. 1 on LED matrix and pin header N.O. 1 on Colorduino or Colors Shield first. Let’s take LED matrix (circle dot) and Colorduino as an example.

1, Find pin N.O. 1 on LED matrix. As shown in the red circle of the picture, there is a mark ‘1’ next to the pin indicating pin N.O. 1.

2, Find pin header N.O. 1 on Colorduino. As shown in the red circle of the picture, there is a mark ‘1’ next to ‘BLUE’ indicating pin header N.O. 1.

3, Plug pin N.O. 1 on LED matrix into pin header N.O. 1 on Colorduino, and then plug other pins accordingly.

For square LED matrix, you can find there is recessed dot at the bottom as shown in the picture. The pin N.O. 1 is the first pin on the right row of the dot.

Then you can find pin header N.O. 1 on Colors Shield. As shown in the red circle of the picture, there is a mark ‘1’ next to ‘BLUE’ indicating pin header N.O. 1.

Plug pin N.O. 1 on square LED matrix into pin header N.O. 1 on Colors Shield, and then plug other pins accordingly.
