Install Bootloader For Iteaduino Lite

As Iteaduino Lite adopts chip LGT8F88A, the Arduino-compatible bootloader pre-installed before leaving factory can be used directly. If you want to update the bootloader on your own or download non-Arduino program codes, you will need an external debugger.

Here we would like to recommend SWDICE mkII debugger, hardware and communication protocol of which are open source. We will post a detailed blog about this debugger and now it's on sale in imall.

Next, we are to demonstrate how to use SWDICE mkII debugger to program chip LGT8F88A by taking downloading bootloader onto Iteaduino Lite as an example.

Before using SWDICE mkII debugger, we need to download the drivers and documentation packages needed first:

Then, follow the steps below to install the driver. First, install driver for SWDICE mkII debugger. Double-click "AVRJungoUSB.exe" in "AVRJungoUSB.rar" to enter the installation interface. Leave the default settings as they are, and keep clicking the "Next" button.

Click "Install" and wait for a while. After the driver is successfully installed, click the “Finish" button.

After installation is completed, connect SWDICE mkII debugger to the computer with mini USB cable, the computer will automatically install driver for the debugger. After it is done, you can find a device called "JTAGICE mkII" in the Device Manager, which indicates that the driver is successfully installed.

Next, install the new ISP programmer tool of LGTMix_ISP, double-click installation package "lgtmix_isp_en_v2.1a_setup.exe" in "lgtmix_isp_en_v2.1a_setup.zip" to enter the installation interface. Leave the default settings as they are,  and keep clicking the "Next" button.

Click "Install" and wait for a while. After the driver is successfully installed, click the “Finish" button.

Open the Start menu , "install filter driver" in folder click LogicGreen \ LGTMix_ISP, and the system will pop up installation interface for libusb-win32 filter, then select option "Install a device filter" in the interface and click the " Next" button. Next, select option "JTAGICE mkII" and click "Install." After it is successfully installed, an OK interface will be prompted, then click "OK" to exit the interface.

Extract Arduino patch for Iteaduino Lite to hardware directory in Arduino IDE. Then open Arduino IDE, choose "Iteaduino Lite" as the board type and "LGTSWD mkII as ISP" as the programmer. Connect interfaces "SWD, SWC, VCC and GND" on SWDICE mkII debugger to the corresponding SWD interfaces on Iteaduino Lite respectively with a DuPont wire , and then power up Iteaduino Lite. Click on "Burn Bootloader" button, and wait for a while, IDE will prompt information to indicate that bootloarder is successfully programmed.
