Multimedia Plug Preview

From the feedback received, we found that many users want to use Iteaduino Plus directly as a multimedia device in addition to a development platform – for example, after programming ROM of Android TV, it could work as a multimedia player.

As Iteaduino Plus was originally designed mainly as a development platform, we focused on offering users with a variety of interfaces and GPIO’s, which results in its lack of multimedia properties – for example, there is no IR receiver. In order to compensate for these defects and to further expand its multimedia properties, we specifically designed a MultiMedia Plug for it.

The multimedia Plug can be directly plugged into Iteaduino Plus , and we recommend using a 12V power so that the mainboard can have a more robust and stable power supply. The shield is mainly to solve these problems and is offered with new features below:

  • IR receiver – if you want to use Iteaduino Plus as a multimedia application center, you will definitely need an infrared receiver to respond to your remote control. Now with MultiMedia Plug, you can sit on the sofa and remotely control Iteaduino Plus to change channels and to adjust volume, etc.
  • Buttons – these buttons are connected to AD0 of Iteaduino Plus and they can be used for volume adjustment and change of songs, etc. in some multimedia applications.
  • SD card socket – in some multimedia applications, an external SD card may be needed. Although there is SD0 on Iteaduino Plus, some of the ROM defaults to SD3 interface, thus we also break it out.
  • Audio Interface – it provides audio interface for coaxial and fiber optic cable so that users can connect it to other external audio amplifiers.
  • Uboot button – if you need to update multimedia application firmware for NAND FLASH, you will need to use this button.
  • Cooling fan – when the board is running at full load of various multimedia applications , a cooling fan can be used to improve its performance and to provide better and smoother user experience.

Therefore, if you want your Iteaduino Plus to work as a multimedia application center, this shield can meet your requirements by providing powerful multimedia function support for Iteaduino Plus. 

As we have mentioned repeatedly that we do not specialize in the development of Linux and Android systems, we do not offer customized multimedia application firmware for it, while some open-source firmware that are developed for A10/A20 chip can actually run on Iteaduino Plus.
